There is an onslaught of over-stimulation, from news, cell phones, traffic to choices. On an average day, we take in over 100,000-plus words. Add the minute-by-minute updates while multi-tasking to get it all done; we are creating our own “crazy busy”. Studies show that we are not any busier than we were 30 years ago, we just feel busier. Reasons? Multi-tasking keeps us out of the present moment, and that’s where we feel more space and ease.
By paying attention to multitasking, we can begin to curb it and help ourselves feel more productive and less stressed. Choose a single project with a time-bound goal of 30 to 60 minutes with a 5 to 10 minute break. Go for a walk, stretch or close your eyes and concentrate on your breath.
Rather than letting fear create frenzy and busyness, learn how to unplug and find some calm and stillness within. You are worth it!
